About The Author

This is the most essential part of any home page, the part where I tell you a lot of things about myself that you probably don't want to know.

Who Am I?

So, who am I? My name is Alex La Hurreau, and I work as an engineer for Moyer Process & Control. I have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Tri-State University. I was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on October 10th, 1983. In 1989, my family moved to Hamilton, Indiana where I lived most of my life. In recent times, I've lived in Angola, first as an on-campus student at Tri-State, then in a rental home. I'm currently (temporarily) living with my parents after serving a short stint in the Army National Guard of Indiana. I was married, but I am now divorced.

How old are you?

Like I said previously, I was born in 1983, and I am currently 21 years old. I graduated from High School in 1998 at the age of 14, and graduated from Tri-State University in 2002 at 19 years of age. So yes, I was one of those prodigal children you read about in the newspapers and see on television. The whole experience has left me somewhat unprepared to deal with a variety of social situations. I am learning about socialization the hard way, though. Other than making the bad decision of getting married/divorced in less than a year, I think I'm adjusting fairly well.

Angola What?

Angola is a large town of 7,344 people located in north-east Indiana. In case you wish to nuke us all, our ICBM co-ordinates are 41.63697 north by 85.00089 west. Located in the heart of lake country (our county is known as the Land of 101 Lakes), Angola has shopping centers, fast food joints and abandoned factories. The economy is simply booming in Angola, with a median income of $34,925 and 10.5% of people below the poverty line. Who could ask for more?

Angola grew up around the intersection of US-20 and US-27. These days, though, US-27 has been ripped out all the way to Fort Wayne, so there isn't as much traffic these days. You can get more information about Angola on this site, which includes a historic picture of the intersection. If you are looking to start a business, come to Angola. We have a lot of centrally-located empty buildings for you to house your entrepeneurial adventure.

Divorced?

On May 3rd, 2003, I got married to a woman named Kelly Lewis. We had been dating for several years, and decided to take the plunge. Having recently graduated from Tri-State University, it seemed like a logical next step. It turned out to be a disaster. Our good relationship turned sour, and my (then) wife began acting very odd. Well, it turns out that she "never loved me" and that the whole thing was done to make her mom happy. (?!?) Well, she apparently found her ideal man online (who couldn't leave his home state of Tennessee due to being on probation for stabbing his best friend). Discovering this, I brought the whole thing to an end. Our divorce was finalized on April 30th, 2004, but our actual marriage ended in mid-January. I have no children.

What do you look like?

For those of you who want to see what I look like, I've provided a picture (pre-Army). A more recent picture is forthcoming...
