I have started a new song. Those of you who heard my "early work" on Modarchive.com will probably reeling with horror at this point, but rest assured — I have been honing my skills.

The file is only thirty seconds, and is just a preview of the earliest part of the song. Enjoy.

I was updating my web page recently, and came upon this little gem. I thought that it was too harsh, and removed it from public view. I did keep a copy for the future, and have decided that now is the time to post it.

I've thought about the Christian idea that man has dominion over animals. I believe, as my ancestors believed, that this is not so. Christian-Man reads in his Bible that he has dominion over nature, yet he looks at his world and sees that it isn't so. Diseases wreak havoc on his family, wild animals and insects destroy his crops, and natural forces destroy his home. Yet his God tells him that he has dominion, so he tries to make it so. He invents cures for diseases – yet new diseases come to take their place. He uses toxins and barriers to protect his crops, yet new breeds of insects and smarter animals attack them still. He has no control over the weather, although he wishes it was so. All hail Christian-Man, Master of the Natural World.

Sha-win-da-ka!

Bad Dream

I like to think that I have some creative talent, and I'd like to share that with the world. In that spirit, I've put a new drawing online. It is called "Bad Dream". You can stare into the green spiral as much as you want, but you may not like what you see.

I drew this one about a month before I went to Basic Training. I have only shown it to a few of my close friends, but I thought that it should now see the Light of Day. I have a few more things I drew, plus a whole bunch of photographs that I took, which will eventually make their way to the web site. For now, however, you'll have to live with the green spiral. What is the meaning of this drawing? Stare into the spiral long enough, and you'll figure it out.
